Production Quality Engineer
Location: Near Camberley, Surrey
Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 per annum
A market-leading engineering company based near Camberley is seeking a skilled and experienced Production Quality Engineer to join their dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a renowned organisation that provides cutting-edge engineering solutions across various sectors, including automotive, electronics, aerospace, and defence.
As a Production Quality Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the consistent application of quality practices across production operations. You will be responsible for driving quality improvements, supporting operations to maintain high-quality standards, and assisting in the development of processes that enhance performance, customer satisfaction, and reduce costs.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide comprehensive quality engineering support to production teams, ensuring the effective application of quality standards throughout manufacturing operations.
* Support Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) activities where necessary to identify and mitigate potential risks.
* Recommend and implement improvements to the existing quality systems, leading to enhanced product quality, increased customer satisfaction, and simplified processes that drive cost reductions.
* Work closely with the New Product Introduction (NPI) department, supporting the pre-production process and ensuring that products meet quality excellence standards prior to release into full-scale production.
* Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with all relevant quality standards.
Required Experience:
* Practical knowledge of IPC standards and their application in a manufacturing environment.
* Previous experience in quality engineering roles within the automotive, electronics, aerospace, or defence industries.
* Proven track record in Production Quality Engineering and control, particularly within manufacturing settings.
* A minimum of 5 years' experience working in quality environments within engineering, manufacturing, marine, or defence sectors.
Key Skills:
* Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving quality issues.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with cross-functional teams.
* Detailed knowledge of quality systems and methodologies, including FMEA, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
* Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to quality management.
